Why go Back if I Want to Move On?

Sometimes you find yourself repeating patterns of thought or behaviour that you no longer want as part of your life. Often, you're aware, or simply suspect, that these patterns have their roots deep in the past, maybe in childhood, maybe even in a past life.

Regression work meets you there, and there are two sides to this particular coin.

Regression therapy

This is the part that gets to the root of things. Using hypnotherapy techniques, we follow the thread of a pattern back to where it began: a fear that never made sense, a relationship that plays out the same way every time, a reaction far bigger than the moment deserves. Sometimes the source is a moment in this lifetime. Sometimes it's further back. Once we've found it, we safely and gently release it, so you can move on, free of the past.

The exploring

The other side is more creative, more fun. Perhaps you've felt inexplicably drawn to a place you've never been, or connected to someone the moment you met them. Sometimes these pulls are simply curiosity, and curiosity is a perfectly good reason to book a session. In these journeys we go to a past life for the experience of it and learn what we can from being there. And every so often, what turns up connects to something you're facing today.

My own first journey

I'll begin with why I decided to study Past Life Regression at all, because I'd always felt quite afraid of it. It hadn't featured in either of my long hypnotherapy trainings. Then a training provider I knew offered me the chance to attend a half-day course and be the 'guinea pig', and I decided it was now or never.

The training was excellent, and at the end of the afternoon I sat, with some trepidation, in the 'therapy chair'. The hypnotherapist guided me to a corridor of doors, one of which held the past life I was destined to experience that day. I felt drawn to a particular door and went through it.

I found myself on the ground, outside, under a tree. I could feel the grains of sandy soil between my fingers and see the leaves high above me, sunshine dappling through. I was aware of other people around, but mostly aware of the soil, the texture of the bark and the hugeness of the tree itself. When the hypnotherapist told me to get up and walk, I was surprised to find that I couldn't... then I realised. I was a baby! I'd been put under the tree to amuse myself and stay safe whilst my mother worked around the farm.

As the experience moved on, I felt a rough wooden spoon being pushed into my mouth, with some sort of porridge-like stew on it. I was vaguely aware that the spoon was a normal size for an adult, and that I was experiencing it as a baby would. Then the life moved forward. I became aware that I was male, grew up to be a farrier, taking after my father, and felt myself falling in love with a local girl. Children came next, and then I was an old man with 'grandbabies' on my knee. Finally, I saw myself lying comfortably in my own bed, in the same house I'd been born in, surrounded by my loving family, passing peacefully away.

It felt so natural, so normal, and I couldn't wait to do it again!

That half-day was just the beginning. I went on to attend a much more in-depth regression therapy course, studying the philosophy and practice over several evenings, then a long weekend of day-long sessions, followed by hours of practice over many weeks, which gave me a good grounding in the methodology, and gives you the confidence to know that when you trust me with your regression session, you will be held safely and guided with skill.

Since then, after many experiences in different lifetimes, I have an absolute, unshakable belief that we live multiple lives. Our souls are intertwined, and we can reconnect with others across our various lives in different ways. There is still so much to learn, but I no longer fear death in this lifetime, since I've experienced it so many times already.

What a session involves

Guiding someone into a regressive state is a craft in itself. It means recognising what's unfolding and bringing you back with clarity and integration, so the experience settles into something useful rather than floating off like a dream. You're safely held whether you're here to explore or to understand recurring patterns, relationships, or fears that don't seem to have an origin in this life.

Whatever brought you here, you leave with your own answers and a clearer sense of what's been shaping you all along.

If you're curious, get in touch.
